The East Manchester Academy

The East Manchester Academy is a superb state-of-the-art high school, designed by award winning architects that include ideas from local pupils about the use of space and colours. The design of the facility is inviting, highly impressive, innovative and environmentally progressive. It is already considered as one of the most noticeable and prestigious landmarks of East Manchester.
Typocom were commissioned to design the prospectus, which outlines the Academy's aims and values as well as the key learning facilities available to prospective students. Our aim was to reflect the Academy's core values and ethos in the design of the prospectus, paying particular attention to use of white space and emphasising the existing brand colour palette. Good architecture and design is essential to the Academy's philosophy, and we wanted the prospectus to be reflective of this, giving an engaging picture of life at the Academy. To ensure it communicated clearly and effectively, whilst remaining colourful, creative and upbeat, we condensed the number of pages in our design by creating a strong grid to accommodate large amounts of text, without compromising on using large, engaging photography and bold colour coded header titles.
